Dennis Biegel – Dennis Biegel has spent his 21 year career dedicated to the inspection, design, construction and testing of movable bridge machinery systems. He has been involved in movable bridge projects of all kinds for clients across the United States and internationally, and his range of expertise extends to other kinds of heavy movable structures, including inspection travelers, movable stadium roofs, flood gates, ferry slips and railroad turntables. Having fallen in to the movable bridge world accidentally after graduating with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cooper Union, he hasn’t looked back since and has been a passionate supporter of for the needs of these structures with his clients and an advocate for technical excellence with his staff and colleagues. Mr. Biegel has served as STV Incorporated’s chief mechanical engineer for movable bridge projects since he was hired in 2006. Over his time at STV, his role has grown to project engineering, project management, management and supervision of movable bridge staff, national marketing, and assisting the development and implementation of the company’s short term and strategic goals in the movable bridge market. These roles allow him to work closely with STV’s local bridge staff and business units leaders and to help them further develop and expand their relationships with their clients through movable bridge related projects. Mr. Biegel has been attending Heavy Movable Structures Symposia regularly since 2008.
